Elements One: Beeswax and Rust Beeswax and rust both occur in nature, although through very different processes. Both are produced from other materials; beeswax from a combination of chemicals processed and secreted by honey bees and rust from the oxidation of iron in the presence of water or moisture in the air. And while both beeswax and rust occur in nature with no help from man, the presence and actions of man can have an impact on the production of both. Elements One takes its inspiration... favoritefavoritefavoritefavoritefavorite ( 1 reviews ) Topics: ambient, drone, experimental music, soundscape, electronic music

Another Neglected Hobby is an electronic music project of Mark Cotton. This release, like its predecessor Elements One: Beeswax and Rust , was inspired by revisiting a series of paintings Mark created using beeswax and rust on canvas instead of traditional paints. The sound is a mixture of drone and rhythmic elements, layered patterns and filtered recordings, shifting from simple, repetitive note patterns to tribal drums and pulsing syncopation. favoritefavoritefavoritefavoritefavorite ( 1 reviews ) Topics: longform, ambient, experimental, soundscape

Ghosts Don't Exist: "The only sound source used in this quite minimal piece is an improvisation on e-bowed guitar. It was made as a personal late night or sleep soundtrack, but maybe some other people could enjoy it - for similar or different purposes." David Kennedy composed this album around the concept of the pyramids communicating with the constellation of Orion. About the album: The infinite mirror started as a single sound, a seed from millions of threads, which grew into the album you are now listening to. In the software I created pyramid shapes by cutting and pasting the music, thus creating "The infinite mirror." From that came the idea of basing the songs on the building of the pyramids at Giza as they may or may not have... favoritefavoritefavoritefavoritefavorite ( 1 reviews ) Topics: David Kennedy, Ambient, Experimental, Dark Ambient, Electronica, Experimental Electronica

Remastered, and in some instances remixed, this "best of" collection by Saluki Regicide revisits important moments in the sound art of C.P. McDill. "Mid-19th century newspaper stories recount that in 1795, young Donald Daniel McInnis discovered a circular depression on the south eastern end of the island with an adjacent tree which had a tackle block on one of its overhanging branches. This version of "Constant", by Mister Vapor, uses blurred and effected sferics, which are sounds emitted by the earth. Less stable than the earliest of Constants, "Constant 25" nonetheless provides a nice, consistent floating sound bed perfect for deep listening. Djinnestan is the quieter spawn of Saluki Regicide. Selling the Wind is a collection of tranquil ambient constructions which have been derived from more "complicated" tracks among my other recording projects.
